Here is the remainder of our second evening at the beach back in June.  My family loves to fish and that is certainly one of the highlights of what we do when we visit the coast.  This night they caught -- oh shoot! I forgot the name of it - will have to check with The Boy when he gets home from school.  It was a flounder (his very favorite), pinfish aplenty, and then what I *think* was called a lizardfish (but he'll confirm for me soon enough), and then the BEST:  A puffer fish that we finally made puff up.  It was SO COOL.

I wanted to share some imagery from our second night at the beach back in June.  I've still not found time to edit them... alas, I've taken so many photos this year and just haven't gotten to them.  I got about a third of the way through my folder with this evening's images and here are 15 of my favorites to show you.

I love this earth that God has given us that screams beauty everywhere you look. I love the mountains I grew up in. I love different terrains and how they show us different things about beauty.  But I have a really hard time not feeling like this little spot on Topsail Island, North Carolina is the most beautiful spot on this planet to me.

It would do me well to remember that a story need not be a long one in order for it to be a good one.

Last Thursday my children resumed their new school year, and thus far it looks like it will be a most excellent one.  That evening my daughter's only homework was to read and she promptly went to her bedroom for the task after we had snack.

When I passed by her bedroom door during that time, I was struck.  Just struck, plain and simple.  It was just a peaceful scene.  A beautiful scene.  A scene that pierced my heart is a most delightful way, for a love of STORY and READING is so incredibly important to me.  It encourages me incredibly to see her developing a love of what can be held within letters on a page, collected and bound for others to absorb.
